About the artists

Theessa Mendizabal: 

Born in Lima, Peru, comes from a family of artist and architects. Her artistic abilities emerged at a very young age, and she began studying drawing and painting in high school under the direction of Frau Timan, where she painted theatrical sets for school plays.

She later participated in workshops at the National School of Fine Arts, and begun to acquire advanced knowledge of technique. In addition, she studied painting under Isabel Campbell and taught children's art classes at the National School of Art in Miraflores.

Theessa spent four years in Santiago, Chile and during this time studied painting and received a degree from the Art and Culture Institute of Las Condes. Upon her return to Lima, she continued to perfect her abilities through workshops at the Art Museum of Lima and with the National Museum Association.

She currently continues her studies of drawing, painting, and sculpture with the renowned artist Celina Revoredo. Her works reflect a wide range of emotions manifested in diverse forms - from simple depictions of nature to contemporary abstract images. Theessa's work has appeared in numerous collections in Peru, and will appear in new exhibits in the near future. 

Amalia Martinez:

Amalia has extensive knowledge of art and vitrofusion, and is extremely creative in developing pieces that incorporate a wide range of textures and forms of glass. Though her academic background is primarily in economics, Amalia is very passionate about art and design. In 2002 she began studying wood painting, but felt unsatisfied with this work and, aware of the new European trends in glass arts, she shifted her focus to vitrofusion. She began her studies in silver jewelry in several workshops in Lima, aiming to offer modern women elegant and unique jewelry, with several pieces bringing together vitrofusion and silver. Her pieces are not only unique and handmade, but also characterized by the use of geometric forms and vivid colors.

Cecilia Pasquel:

Our dream was born to show the world the wonder of Peruvian nature. Our designs and creates are in silver and gold jewelry with inlaid natural stones and shells from Perú.

Maria Jose Barreto:

After obtaining a bachelor's degree in art with a concentration in graphic design from Peru's well-known Catholic University, Maria Jose traveled to England to study ceramics an applied arts. Maria jose offers products based on designs of her own inspiration where loose, uninhibited lines and colors complement each other to create unique decorative and utilitarian pieces that give a special touch to any room or setting.

 

Marisol Correa and Beatriz Pestana:

Marisol and Beatriz were born in Peru in 1973. They have been close friends for many years and decided to bring together their knowledge of jewelry, design, and marketing in order to launch a company that produces handmade jewelry. Uniting silver and crystal, they have created the perfect conbination for their original designs, many of which are inspired by geometric figures. Each of their designs reflects their experiences and bit of themselves.

Claudia Llaury:

Claudia Llaury was born in Callao-Peru's most important port-a place filled with bright colors and exciting experiences. She has traveled the world and has always admired all kinds of art, from folk art to fine arts. Her experiences led her to begin dreaming that one day she could become part of this comunity of international artists. She realized that in Peru she had access to very talented artisans who had inherited the millenarian skills of their ancestors, as well as high quality materials like silver and natural semiprecious stones. with these elements in place, she could make her dream come true.
Working alongside Peruvian master artisans, she began designing conteporary handcrafted pieces using the highest quality materials available, always taking into consideration woldwide trend of contemporary art. She aims to show to the world the beauty and quality of modern Peruvian jewelry and to help local artisans to become recognized as outstanding jewelry artisans worldwide.

Olga Wong:

When beauty, design and production capacity obtain a perfect balance

"EDICION LIMITADA" is born. Our pieces, hand made jewels with silver and 

copper thread, are recognized by the most demandingbuyers in the world, 

for their quality and innovative design that makes each piece a special "LIMITED 

EDITION". Olga Wong de Mendoza, designer and creator of EDICION LIMITADA 

personally supervises the development of each piece. She assisted by a team 

of craftspeople who are prepared to respond \ to any creative challenge. International

buyers can propose design concepts which Olga develops succesfully in the factory 

into one-of-a-kind pieces for the individual client.

Roxana Fajardo:

Argentaria was born from its founder's dream Roxana Fajardo, following the

family tradition of ceramists and artists that during many years admired the technique

of our artisans as well as the silversmith history of Peru. It was a challenge to try to 

offer us an alternative of inpeccable quality, a different touch, today, a hundred of its 

faithful clients confirm it, appreciating along these 10 years of life the elegance and 

fine texture of pieces, requested more and more in the national and international matket.

This venture begins in the year 1977 in the city of Bogota - Colombia, where she

founded the company D' Plaque. However, always missing her country and its wealth, 

her family, her people and food returned to Lima being founded Argentaria in the year 

1996.

At the present time after 10 years of experience determining what their clients need, 

Argentaria is positioned in an important place in the local market. Always searching 

the succes and thanks to the originality of their pieces it is already in the international 

market, following firmly the objectives of development according to the mission and 

vision of the company.

Claudia Lira:

Claudia Lira Covers was born in Lima on 1st April 1973. After completing her 

basic studies in Switzerland, Colombia and Peru, she travelled to the Netherlands 

to begin a career as a silversmith and goldsmith at the outstanding European 

school of MTS Vakschool Schoonhoven. She then complemented her professional 

experience in Florence and Ansterdam. During her 5 year stay in Amsterdam, 

she specialized in different branches of jewelry design. In 1997 she returned to Peru 

to achieve her life dream of setting up her own jewelry business, where she has 

produced a different style in the market, one wich is much more "clean", modern and 

unique in the outlook. In her efforts to promote Peruvian resources and materials, 

Claudia hasmainly been dedicated to the design and manufacture of silver 950/1000 

jewelry with natural stone such as Andean Opal, Crisocola, Serpentine and Spondyllus.

Claudia's Collection also includes the application of new exotic materials such as 

titanium and seeds or materials from the jungle. Nevertheless, Claudis has worked

from the start with precious metals like platinum and 18 carat gold, and has on offer 

an outstanding collection of engagement ring.

Claudia as a natural creator gets her inspiration from every living day: "I play with

metal shapes; things that I find enjoyable. I have a particular attraction for plain, 

pure and essential shapes that exist on Earth".

Hence the symbolthat characterises her brand.
